We are Gelber Group -- Passion for Trading. Powered by Technology.
Gelber Coöperatief is a subsidiary of Gelber Group, LLC. Headquartered in Chicago with offices across the United States and Europe, Gelber has set the bar as one of the industry’s most innovative and enduring proprietary trading firms for more than 40 years. Our success derives from a relentless pursuit of new trading ideas and careful attention to technology.
We have a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration. We empower each member of our team to have a meaningful impact from the start. We employ a flat organizational structure and focus on meritocracy.
As a Trade Support Specialist in our Amsterdam office, you will play an important role in supporting our global trading operations as we continue to expand our presence in Europe. You will work closely with experienced traders and technology teams across the firm, helping ensure the reliability and performance of our trading systems.
This is a hands-on role for a hardworking, self-motivated individual who enjoys solving problems, works well under pressure, and takes ownership of technical and operational challenges in a fast-paced trading environment. You will gain exposure to exchange-traded financial markets, trading infrastructure, and the technology that supports our business.
What you’ll do:
Provide first- and second-line technical support to traders and employees across the firm.
Perform real-time monitoring and support of trading applications, with secondary responsibility for monitoring technical infrastructure.
Monitor proprietary applications, exchange connectivity, and trading systems, identifying, investigating, and escalating issues as appropriate.
Troubleshoot technical and operational problems to minimize disruptions to trading activities.
Develop an understanding of trading workflows, exchange operations, and the trade lifecycle to support effective problem resolution.
Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, troubleshooting, and support processes through automation, AI, and other technologies.
Communicate effectively with traders, technology teams, and other internal stakeholders across the firm.
What you’ll need:
University degree
2 or more years of relevant work experience.
General understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Basic SQL knowledge.
Familiarity with Python, PowerShell, or other automation tools is an advantage, but a willingness to learn is more important.
An interest in financial markets and trading technology; familiarity with exchange-traded products, trading systems, or trade lifecycle processes is advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in time-sensitive situations.
A proactive, self-starting approach and willingness to take ownership of issues.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to occasionally lift or move IT equipment weighing up to 25 kg, where appropriate and in accordance with safe handling procedures.
Willingness to work an early schedule, with occasional flexibility outside regular hours to support global trading operations.
Willingness to travel occasionally to our Chicago headquarters for training and collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
