Summary
About the Position: Located in Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with the Directorate for Education, Training, and Research in the Department of Hospital Education and Training in Bethesda, Maryland. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
- Manages and supervises the use of the Room Reservation Tool for scheduling conferences, seminars, classes and ceremonies.
- Prepares quarterly and yearly Room Reservation Statistic Reports of usage.
- Provides guidance and assistance to training program enrollees seeking to develop their full potential.
- Develops policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to room reservations.
- Facilitates the enrollment of Executive Health Care Providers, Physicians, Dentist, Nurses, Interns and Corpsmen for Operational Medicine Courses and makes schedules for these courses available as soon as they are provided.
- Reviews and processes Command and Department notices and instructions for conformance to DoD regulations, grammar and format and special policies of the Command and the Professional Education Directorate.
- Advises managers and staff of military career education programs sponsored by the command as it relates to the best location/classroom setup for the organization.
Qualifications
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with managing and coordinating schedules for conferences, seminars, classes and ceremonies; coordinating the adequacy of equipment and facilities used for training; accurately typing from written rough drafts or verbal instructions, memoranda and report instruction materials containing basic level medical and administrative terminology. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
