What You’ll Do

As a Transport Monitor, you will help provide safe transportation and support patient movement, monitoring, and documentation within Erie programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Transporting patients to and from referring agencies and scheduled appointments.
  • Escorting patients as needed and monitoring patient movement into and out of the facility.
  • Maintaining vehicles, including gas, oil changes, inspections, and general maintenance coordination.
  • Maintaining daily logs and accurate documentation.
  • Following facility rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Assisting with patient intakes and orientation of new patients.
  • Conducting patient drug screening and random room searches as assigned.
  • Making telephone contact with employers, families, or friends to verify approved patient movement or furloughs.
  • Dispensing authorized prescription medications to patients.
  • Attending mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.

  • Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive while on duty.
  • Ability to follow policies, maintain professional boundaries, and support a safe treatment environment.

Requirements

What do we require?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
  • CPR and First Aid training.
  • Pass PA Criminal background check.
  • Must pass PA Department of Corrections Clean Check.

What are the work conditions?

  • Driving for long distances and sitting for extended periods.
  • Mental demands include monitoring patients who have been incarcerated or are under parole/probation supervision.
  • Mandatory staffing coverage may be required to maintain a safe treatment environment for Gateway patients.
