Transportation Manager | Cairo or Alexandria

Sutherland Egypt is seeking an experienced  Transportation Manager!!

The Transportation Manage r will be responsible for managing and optimizing transportation operations across Egypt, ensuring timely, safe, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. The role involves fleet management, transport planning, driver supervision, vendor coordination, cost control, and compliance with local transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• •Transport Operations: Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily transportation activities, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient vehicle utilization across Egypt.
• •Fleet Management: Manage company-owned and third-party fleets, vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, licensing, insurance, and vehicle availability.
• •Route Planning: Optimize delivery routes, transportation schedules, and load utilization to reduce transit time and operating costs.
• •Driver Management: Supervise drivers and transport staff, monitor attendance and performance, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• •Cost Control: Prepare transport budgets, monitor operating expenses, analyze transportation costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• •Vendor Management: Coordinate with transport subcontractors, freight forwarders, suppliers, and logistics service providers.
• •Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to applicable Egyptian traffic laws, transport regulations, vehicle documentation requirements, and health and safety standards.
• •Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, vehicle downtime, accident rates, and cost per delivery.
• •Customer Coordination: Liaise with warehouse, sales, procurement, and customer service teams to meet delivery commitments and resolve transportation issues.
• •Reporting: Prepare regular operational reports, budget forecasts, incident reports, and performance reviews for management.
• •Continuous Improvement: Develop standard operating procedures and implement systems to improve productivity, service quality, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• •Bachelor’s degree
• •Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT / BPO transportation, logistics, or fleet management, preferably with 2–3 years in a managerial role.
• •Experience managing a fleet of commercial vehicles and coordinating third-party transport providers.
• •Good knowledge of Egyptian transportation regulations, road safety requirements, and vehicle documentation.
• •Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems (TMS).
• •Strong planning, analytical, negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• •Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transport operations simultaneously.
• •Fluency in Arabic and working proficiency in English are preferred.
