YOUR MISSION

As a CNC Tube Bender Programmer/Technician, you will play a vital role in the programming, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC tube-bending equipment used to manufacture precision tube assemblies for spacecraft, propulsion systems, and other aerospace applications. You will develop and modify CNC tube-bending programs, establish machine setups, and work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to produce flight-ready hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CNC Tube-Bending Programming: Create, modify, verify, and optimize CNC tube-bending programs using engineering drawings, bend tables, tube centerline dimensions, bend allowances, rotation values, material specifications, and process documentation. Simulate programs when applicable and make approved adjustments to improve accuracy, repeatability, and production efficiency.

CNC Tube Bending: Set up, operate, and adjust CNC tube-bending machines to produce precision tube assemblies. Load and unload tubing, select and install tooling, establish machine offsets, verify bend sequences, and troubleshoot forming or dimensional issues.

Tube Preparation and Fabrication : Cut, deburr, clean, bend, flare, swage, form, and fit metallic tubing to meet required dimensional, cosmetic, and cleanliness standards. Work with stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel alloys, and other aerospace materials.

Inspection and Verification : Inspect tube assemblies using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, inspection fixtures, go/no-go gauges, and other precision measurement equipment. Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections while accurately recording results.

Tube Assembly and Integration : Fit and assemble bent tubes with fittings, valves, manifolds, brackets, panels, trays, and other fluid-system hardware. Support tube routing, alignment, installation, torquing, leak checking, and system integration activities.

Equipment and Tooling : Perform routine machine maintenance, tooling changes, setup verification, and basic troubleshooting. Identify equipment, tooling, or programming issues and support corrective actions with manufacturing engineering and maintenance personnel.

Safety and Compliance : Follow protocols for machine safety, hazardous materials, FOD prevention, ESD control, cleanroom operations, material handling, and other applicable safety and quality requirements.

Continuous Improvement : Support improvements to CNC programs, tooling, work instructions, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes. Provide technical support to team members and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve production methods.
