Underwriting Specialist

Join our dynamic underwriting team and help shape the foundation of quality and service our policyholders rely on. The Underwriting Specialist plays a key role in evaluating transactions, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. This position works closely with underwriters and cross-functional partners to support new business, renewals, and point-of-service activities—all while providing exceptional service to agents and policyholders.

What You’ll Do

• •Process policy changes, reinstatements, cancellations, renewals, and non-renewals within assigned authority.
• •Support core underwriting functions such as property inspections, driver discovery surveys, and agency transfers.
• •Leverage approved AI and technology tools to analyze risk information, identify potential exposures or inconsistencies, and support efficient, informed underwriting assessments and decisions.
• •Partner with agents and policyholders to collect details, resolve issues, and communicate underwriting decisions clearly.
• •Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with company procedures and service standards.
• •Collaborate with team members and departments to address underwriting questions and advance departmental goals.
• •Continue learning through ongoing training and development to enhance underwriting expertise.

Qualifications

• •High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or insurance coursework preferred).
• •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• •Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
• •Ability to balance multiple priorities and thrive in a collaborative environment.
• •Proficiency with Microsoft Office and readiness to learn company systems.
• •Interest or foundational knowledge in risk analysis and insurance principles.
