Description

Universal Banker is a key frontline role responsible for providing comprehensive banking services to both consumer and commercial customers . This position combines teller transactions with relationship-based sales and service, delivering seamless customer experience across all service channels.

The Universal Banker engages customers in meaningful financial conversations, identifies needs, and recommends appropriate bank products and solutions to support financial success. This role also ensures accurate transaction processing while maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Relationship Management

• •Deliver exceptional service to both consumer and commercial clients in person and via phone.
• •Build and deepen customer relationships by understanding financial needs and goals.
• •Conduct needs-based conversations and provide tailored banking solutions.
• •Resolve customer issues promptly and escalate complex concerns as appropriate.

Sales & Financial Solutions

• •Recommend and open new consumer and business accounts (checking, savings, lending, treasury services).
• •Cross-sell bank products and services aligned with customer needs.
• •Support onboarding of new customers, including follow-up and relationship expansion.
• •Identify referral opportunities for specialized services (commercial lending, wealth, mortgage, etc.).

Transactional & Operational Support

• •Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other teller transactions accurately.
• •Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate transaction records.
• •Support both routine and complex transactions for consumer and business clients.

Account Maintenance & Servicing

• •Maintain and service account relationships, including updates, closures, and documentation.
• •Assist customers with digital banking tools and services.
• •Answer questions related to accounts, fees, fraud prevention, and banking products.

Compliance & Risk Management

• •Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• •Ensure proper identification, documentation, and fraud prevention practices.
• •Protect customer information and always maintain confidentiality.

Teamwork & Branch Support

• •Collaborate with team members to achieve financial center goals.
• •Support branch operations including opening/closing duties and dual control procedures (e.g., night drop).
• •Contribute to a positive, customer-focused team environment.
