Hennepin Technical College seeks a Unlimited Full-Time Electrician Instructor dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values trust, integrity, pride, passion, respect, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and diversity. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to embracing quality and innovation in career and technical education, workforce development, and lifelong learning.

Examples of Duties:

Teach lecture and lab courses in electrician

Continuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes

Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning

Support of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resources

Development and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid courses

Contribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection , etc.

Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development

Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects

Salary Range:

$44,359.00 - $98,660.00

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

Two-year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.

Occupational Experience Requirement

Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.

Recency Requirement

One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement

State of Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License

Work hours are traditionally scheduled from 8 :00 a m – 5 :00pm Monday through Friday and may include weekends. Additional hours will be required for office hours and the completion of administrative duties.
