Job Description: Upstream Production Technician / Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Upstream Production Technician/Engineer to join our manufacturing and processing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining complex processing and separation equipment—including reactors, filtration systems, centrifuges, and industrial dryers. The ideal candidate ensures all operations are executed safely, efficiently, and strictly in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) or standard industrial safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation & Control: Setup, sterilize, operate, and troubleshoot production equipment, including batch/continuous Reactors , Centrifuges , and various solid-liquid separation and drying units.
  • Filtration & Separation: Execute primary harvest, clarification, and concentration processes using Filter Presses , Microfiltration , Ultrafiltration , and Rotary Vacuum Precoat Filters (RVPD) .
  • Drying Operations: Manage moisture reduction and powder processing via Spray Dryers and Flash Dryers to achieve final product specifications.
  • Process Monitoring: Track critical process parameters (CPPs) such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, pH, and agitator speeds, making adjustments as needed via automated control systems (DCS/PLC).
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine mechanical checks, minor servicing, calibration assistance, and preventative maintenance on assigned machinery. Quickly diagnose and resolve equipment performance anomalies.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate batch records, logs, and electronic data entries in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
  • Safety & Hygiene: Adhere strictly to safety policies, hazard communication, proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) regimes.
