Join the team rewriting the rules in private markets.
Moonfare delivers what few others can: the highly sought-after funds and hidden-gem investments that go beyond what most private banks offer. Every opportunity is subjected to a ruthless vetting process; the bar is unforgivingly high. The result? Institutional-quality portfolios for investors who demand more.
Our team combines finance veterans with talent from tech, consulting, law and industries you’d never expect. Headquartered in Berlin, we operate from eight offices across Europe, the US and Asia.
If you're ready to build what's next in private markets, let's talk.
US Fund Operations Associate
Moonfare is experiencing exceptional growth in the North American market. Our Operations Team plays a central role in enabling this success by keeping our funds running smoothly, supporting regulatory compliance, and partnering closely with teams across the business to open up private markets to US investors.
Moonfare US is currently a small, close-knit team of five, with each member playing a hands-on role in the day-to-day success of the business. As the platform grows and expands its range of offerings in the US market, the team is expected to grow too. As our Fund Operations Associate, you’ll report to our Head of US Operations, supervise our Fund Operations Intern, and work day-to-day with colleagues in the US and our Luxembourg-based Global Fund teams.
In this role, you'll support the day-to-day operations of our US-domiciled private equity feeder funds (primarily Delaware Limited Partnerships). You'll get broad, hands-on exposure to how private markets funds are set up, administered and reported on, and you'll learn directly from experienced fund professionals.
Fund Lifecycle Ownership: Run operational workstreams across the fund lifecycle, from launches and closings through capital calls and distributions. Own the accuracy of fund data, trackers and checklists.
General and Limited Partner Subscriptions: Review subscription documents and assess limited partner eligibility. Coordinate KYC/AML checks with internal teams and service providers, and decide when an exception needs escalating.
Service Provider Management: Act as the main US contact for fund administrators, auditors and tax advisors. Drive reconciliations, investor statements, annual audits and K-1 preparation through to deadline.
Investor Reporting: Prepare and review reporting for US investors. Participate in the refresh of how we report to investors, working with internal teams and our fund administrator to shape what we share and how it looks.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Be the operational point of contact for Sales, Investor Relations, Legal and the Luxembourg-based fund teams, so US investors get quick, accurate answers.
Process Improvement and Tooling: Maintain the trackers and dashboards the US team relies on. Find manual work that can be automated, including with AI tools, and document processes so they hold up as the business grows.
Intern Supervision: Train and supervise our Fund Operations Intern, assigning work and reviewing it before it goes out.
The next Moonfarian:
2-4 years of experience in fund operations, business operations, financial services or a related field
Working knowledge of AI tools and an interest in using them to simplify manual processes
A can-do attitude and a willingness to pick up whatever needs doing, including work outside your usual remit
Team-oriented, with a track record of collaborating well with colleagues across functions and time zones
You thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift from one week to the next
Able to juggle several deadlines at once without losing sight of the detail
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
