Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Utility Operator is a general laborer that covers both yard operations and all Shipping & Receiving duties for Metal Source Recycling during second shift operations.

REPORTS TO: Shipping & Receiving Manager

SUPERVISES: N/A

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create scale house tickets and data entry.
  • Loading, unloading and sorting of materials.
  • Operate the car pad by loading and unloading autos and properly process the auto.
  • Operate the buy room.
  • Snow removal when applicable
  • Sweep all concrete and dock area to keep walk / driveways free of debris.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Shipping & Receiving Manager, as an extension of the S & R team but is not a utility person to supplement production.
  • Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position.
  • Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous heavy equipment experience required.
  • PIT License required.

  • Self-starter that takes initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
