Job Description:

Job Duck is seeking a highly organized and proactive Bilingual Civil Litigation Paralegal to support a fast-paced legal team with litigation matters and court related processes. In this role, you will draft pleadings, motions, proposed orders, and correspondence while maintaining accurate case documentation and assisting with newly filed lawsuits. You will communicate professionally with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, and internal team members while helping matters move forward efficiently. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who learns quickly, manages competing deadlines effectively, and takes ownership of assigned responsibilities. The right candidate will thrive in an independent role supported by established templates, training, and clear legal processes.

Compensation Range: To be confirmed

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Assist with other litigation and legal administrative duties as assigned.

Communicate professionally with opposing counsel regarding litigation matters.

Notify judicial offices of relevant case developments, including settlements, when appropriate.

Create and maintain accurate contact information for judges and judicial assistants.

Maintain organized, complete, and accurate case files and documentation.

Communicate with judicial assistants regarding case questions, updates, and administrative matters.

Review newly assigned cases and identify the appropriate judge using the assigned case number.

Prepare and send conferral emails to opposing counsel when required.

Draft initial pleadings and litigation related legal documents using established templates.

Research and add judges to the case management system when necessary.

Maintain accurate records of litigation requests, communications, and follow ups.

Complete E-filing activities accurately and within applicable deadlines.

Assist with case setup after new lawsuits are filed.

Draft proposed orders, cover letters to judges, and court related correspondence.

Prepare witness lists, exhibit lists, and other case documentation.

Support civil litigation and first-party property damage matters.

Draft motions to compel, including motions related to obtaining deposition dates when opposing parties are unresponsive or do not cooperat

Requirements:

Fluent or highly proficient in English and Spanish

Previous experience working in a legal environment, preferably supporting litigation matters

Civil litigation experience

First-party property damage experience

E-filing experience

Previous experience supporting United States litigation matters

Experience drafting pleadings, motions, proposed orders, or other litigation documents

Experience communicating with opposing counsel, courts, judges, or judicial assistants is preferred

Familiarity with United States litigation procedures and legal terminology is preferred

Formal paralegal certification or licensing is not required

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Time zone: EST

Software and tools:

◦ Clio for case management

◦ Dropbox for document storage and management

◦ Microsoft Outlook for email and communication

◦ Microsoft Teams for internal communication

◦ VoIP calling software for occasional telephone communication

No specialized calling hardware is expected because the calling system can be accessed through the work computer when appropriately configured

Work Shift:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM [EST][EDT] (United States of America)
