About the Role

We are looking for an Electronics & Value Engineering (VAVE) Engineer to help shape the next generation of our industry-leading industrial printing solutions.

Reporting to the VAVE Manager and based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire , you’ll use your electronics expertise to drive meaningful product improvements, from cost optimisation and manufacturability to performance and reliability. Working within a multidisciplinary R&D environment, you’ll have the opportunity to influence products throughout their lifecycle while developing your expertise in VAVE.

You will work in a collaborative environment where support, mentoring, and encouragement are provided to help you grow and develop your technical and professional skills.

Previous VAVE experience is a plus, but not essential . We’re equally interested in experienced Electronic Engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and want to see their ideas deliver real, measurable impact.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Identify and deliver VAVE opportunities to reduce Bill of Materials (BOM) costs and manufacturing time.
  • Improve manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, quality, and production efficiency.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to evaluate alternative components, technologies, and manufacturing methods.
  • Own cost-reduction projects from concept through implementation, testing, and validation.
  • Analyse product designs and manufacturing processes, contributing to design reviews, problem-solving, and technical decisions.
  • Collaborate across international multidisciplinary teams, managing multiple projects and supporting innovation and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar, with 3+ years of industrial engineering experience.
  • Strong electronics background, including analogue/digital systems, design, testing, troubleshooting, fault-finding, and product support.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as FPGA, RFID, sensors, power electronics, embedded systems, as well as EMC, product safety, compliance, and design verification.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
  • Desirable: experience with manufacturing/DfM, global supply chains, OrCAD, Python/C++/LabVIEW, automated testing, plus strong hands-on capability, commercial awareness, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
