the posting

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for your next opportunity in a busy practice, with a great team, varied caseload and excellent surgical opportunities? We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with around 5 years plus experience to join our established team in Benfleet.

We’re particularly keen to hear from vets with strong surgical skills . Experience with laparoscopic spays would be a fantastic bonus, but if you’re keen to learn, we’re happy to support you in developing this skill.

About the Practice

We’re a busy practice with a good clinical caseload and a friendly, supportive team. You’ll work alongside a team of other Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs, VCAs and CCAs.

We have a varied caseload, giving you plenty of opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical and surgical skills.

Working Pattern and OOH

The role includes a 1:3 Saturday rotation, as well as Bank Holiday and on-call responsibilities shared with our nearby 24-hour practice.

The on-call and Bank Holiday commitment is not frequent, as this is shared across the wider network, giving you a good balance between work and home life.

Location

Our practice is based in Benfleet, a lovely town with excellent transport links and a great local community.

There are good train links to London and easy access by road, making this a great option for those wanting to work outside London while still having the capital within easy reach.

For those who enjoy getting outdoors, the practice is also close to the Thames Estuary, offering lovely opportunities for coastal walks and sea views right on your doorstep. It’s a great location for enjoying a good work-life balance, with countryside, waterways and walking routes nearby.

If you’re an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys surgery, likes working as part of a supportive team and is looking for a practice where you can continue to develop, we’d love to hear from you.
