Veterinary Surgeon – TVC, Erdington
Salary up to £65,000 DOE
Welcome bonus up to £5,000 (pro rata) and relocation allowance up to £5,000 (pro rata)
Monday to Friday only – no weekends or OOH
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our supportive team at TVC on a permanent basis. Offering a well-balanced mix of medicine and surgery, this is an opportunity to enjoy the variety of first opinion practice while continuing to develop your clinical interests.
You’ll be based primarily at our Erdington practice, with one day each week at our nearby New Hall branch. The role includes some sole-charge working, so we’re looking for someone comfortable working independently when required while remaining part of a well-connected wider clinical team.
About Erdington & New Hall
Across both sites, you’ll have access to a great range of facilities including dental X-ray, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory and endoscopy. You’ll be supported by our experienced nursing team, while our wider veterinary team includes certificate holders in internal medicine and Emergency & Critical Care.
We’re passionate about professional development and are happy to support and fund certificates and individual clinical interests. Monthly vet meetings and our clinical discussion group provide plenty of opportunities to share knowledge, discuss cases and stay connected with colleagues across the wider team.
Hear What the Team Have to Say About TVC
“I started working for TVC two and a half years ago after taking a short break from clinical work to start a family. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive team to ease me back in than the fantastic team at New Hall.
We see a diverse range of cases to cover most interests. Since starting at TVC I have been supported through the final stages of my small animal medicine certificate and throughout my career progression. We are well equipped with a gastroscope, bronchoscope and rigid scope alongside ultrasound, X-ray and dental X-ray.
Our nurses are fantastic, with an additional ECC qualification and a wealth of experience between them. We are more than colleagues at New Hall; we are a family looking to welcome someone else into the fold!” – Jenny, Clinical Director
A Working Pattern That Works
Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we know that work-life balance plays an important part in helping our teams thrive.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There are no weekends and no out-of-hours requirements for this role. We’re also happy to consider part-time applications and discuss a working pattern that could work for you.
A Great Place to Live & Work
Erdington offers a great combination of convenience, community and access to Birmingham. With a range of local shops, parks and amenities alongside excellent transport links into Birmingham city centre and the surrounding areas, it’s a well-connected base for life both in and outside of work.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You are a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is comfortable with some sole-charge responsibility. You’ll bring:
* A Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS
* At least two years of post-graduate experience

* The ability to work independently when required, including sole-charge working
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
* A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
