At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
Midforest Vets, part if inspiring vet care, has been part of the local community, building lasting relationships with generations of clients and their pets for over 40 years. Now, we're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, experienced team. If you want to enjoy your clinical work, build lasting client relationships and develop your interests in a supportive environment, we'd love to welcome you.
A Caseload That Keeps You Interested
If variety is what you love about first-opinion practice, you'll feel right at home here. You'll work with a lovely mix of cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, with a balance of consultations, surgery and medical work-ups. You'll have the opportunity to follow your own cases from start to finish, building continuity and getting to know your clients and their pets along the way.
There's also a busy dentistry caseload, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys surgery and wants to continue developing their clinical skills. With genuine clinical freedom, you'll be encouraged to explore your interests, grow in confidence and shape your role around the areas of veterinary medicine you enjoy most.
A Team That Makes All the Difference
You'll be joining a close-knit team of four Veterinary Surgeons, six experienced RVNs and a dedicated Client Care Team who genuinely enjoy working together. With certificate holders in ultrasound and dentistry already on the team, there's plenty of expertise to share and opportunities to learn from one another. CPD and certificate study are actively encouraged, so whether you're looking to build on an existing interest or try something new, you'll have the support to make it happen.
Modern Facilities, Friendly Faces
Working across our Totton and Lyndhurst practices, you'll benefit from modern facilities including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. You'll have the equipment you need to investigate cases thoroughly and deliver excellent patient care, backed by the knowledge and experience of your wider team.
Work-Life Balance That Really Matters
Full-time hours are worked across four 10-hour days, with just 1:5 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:30pm), worked as sole charge. There are no out-of-hours or on-call commitments, allowing you to enjoy a genuine work-life balance while pursuing a rewarding veterinary career.
