$200M. 550 people. Two mission spaces. One leader.
Leidos is looking for a Vice President who doesn't just manage a portfolio — they grow one. This is the Government Solutions Division, and it sits at the intersection of some of the most consequential work in government: HHS & VA. If you've built a career proving you can run diverse programs across multiple agencies and industries — and you're looking for the next portfolio to make your own — this is that role. I
You won't inherit a business plan. You'll write the next one. This Division needs someone who sees around corners on where federal missions are headed — and has the operational muscle to deliver against it, contract by contract, quarter by quarter.
What you'll own:
- The strategy — and the follow-through. You'll set the direction for the Division and turn it into an action plan people can actually execute.
- Growth, full stop. You'll partner with Business Development to go after and win business — not just defend what's already on the books.
- The bigger picture. You'll pull in other parts of Leidos to strengthen current contracts and break into adjacent markets — growth doesn't stop at your org chart.
- The P&L. Cost, schedule, KPIs, AOP commitments — you're accountable for all of it, across every contract in the Division.
- The bench. You'll coach division managers, raise the execution bar, and build the next generation of leaders Leidos will need.
- The culture. High retention, high performance, high integrity — you set the tone, and people follow it because you live it.
What you bring to the table:
- 15+ years running significant federal program portfolios, degree in hand (or equivalent experience that speaks for itself).
- Real command of multiple contract types — CPFF, FFP, FPLOE, T&M — and how to manage resources across all of them.
- A proven track record of growing a business over multiple years — customers, people, programs, financials, new business, all moving in the same direction.
- Wins you can point to: on-contract growth, recompetes, takeaways, new business, across more than one federal market.
- The ability to lead a diverse workforce of employees and subcontractors, and to get things done across organizational lines.
- A track record of moving an organization — not just managing it — by influencing at every level.
- An eye for talent, and the follow-through to develop it into your next generation of leaders.
- Communication skills that land in the boardroom and on the page.
Bonus points for:
- Existing relationships across this Division's federal customer base.
- A history of breaking into new accounts through smart, deliberate capture strategy.
- Sharp instincts on where the market's going — and the business models to get there first.
- Fluency in program/project management maturity frameworks like CMMI and ITIL.
- A real read on the competitive landscape with relationships strong enough to form real teaming partnerships.
- A Master's degree in business or a related technical/scientific field.
If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling. At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo — because the mission demands it. We're not hiring followers. We're recruiting the ones who disrupt, provoke, and refuse to fail. Step 10 is ancient history. We're already at step 30 — and moving faster than anyone else dares.
