Description
The Vice President of Marketing & Market Development is a key member of the leadership team responsible for driving profitable growth through ownership of the 4 Ps of Marketing: Product, Price, Place, and Promotion.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will lead portfolio strategy, pricing, market development, channel expansion, brand positioning, and demand generation initiatives. Working closely with Sales, Agronomy, Operations, and Finance, the VP translates customer and market insights into strategies that increase revenue, strengthen market position, and accelerate business growth.
Agricultural experience is preferred but not required. We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded marketing leader with a proven ability to drive growth in a B2B environment.
Product
- Lead product portfolio strategy and lifecycle management.
- Develop product positioning, messaging, and value propositions.
- Drive new product launches and go-to-market execution.
- Conduct market research, customer segmentation, and competitive analysis.
Price
- Develop and manage pricing strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive activity.
- Implement value-based pricing and promotional programs.
Place
- Develop channel and market expansion strategies.
- Identify new market, customer, and geographic growth opportunities.
- Partner with sales leadership to strengthen distribution and market penetration.
Promotion
- Lead brand strategy and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Oversee digital marketing, events, advertising, social media, and content development.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all customer touchpoints.
- Develop sales enablement tools and marketing materials.
Leadership
- Manage the marketing budget and measure ROI.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics.
- Present market insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
- Lead external marketing partners and agencies.
- Foster alignment across commercial, technical, and operational teams.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing, market development, brand management, or commercial leadership.
- Strong experience in product strategy, pricing, market research, and go-to-market planning.
- Proven ability to drive business growth through data-driven marketing strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and marketing technology platforms.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred
- MBA or advanced business degree.
- Experience in agriculture, specialty chemicals, manufacturing, or other technical B2B industries.
- Experience managing product portfolios and launching new products.
- Familiarity with specialty fertilizers, bio stimulants, or sustainability-focused solutions.
