As a Real Assets Consultant at Callan, a leading independent investment consulting firm, you will have an opportunity to support some of the largest, most sophisticated institutional investors in the U.S., including pension and defined contribution plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and healthcare organizations.
Our goal is to identify a candidate with a genuine interest in real assets investments, data analysis, and reporting, has investment knowledge, intellectual curiosity, strong project and time management skills, and a true appreciation for the value of building strong, trusted relationships with clients and fellow Callan colleagues.
This position will be based in any of Callan’s offices, Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; or Summit, NJ. The candidate is expected to work a hybrid (office/home) schedule, with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.
As a consultant on the Real Assets Consulting team at Callan, a leading independent investment consulting firm, you will join a collaborative group of research and consulting professionals responsible for the asset classes of real estate, infrastructure, farmland, and timberland. The team manages relationships with Callan’s institutional investor clients, assisting them in all phases of the investment process, including strategic planning, plan implementation, manager due diligence, performance evaluation, and research and education. Callan believes that our organization and culture are made stronger through diverse perspectives and experiences. Along with having an appreciation for Callan’s unique and collaborative culture, your ability to demonstrate success in the skill sets we seek is of greater importance than years of experience.

Performance Evaluation: Monitor client portfolios through quarterly performance measurement and ongoing manager due diligence.
Research and Education: Research and respond to client needs and requests with relevant, actionable insights.
Develop deep expertise in designated Real Assets segments and contribute insights to Callan’s research and thought leadership initiatives through research papers, workshops, and educational seminars.
Identify and lead projects and initiatives that advance the firm’s goals and enhance its capabilities.
Build and maintain strong industry relationships while representing Callan at industry events, manager conferences, and other external engagements.
