Job Description:

The Retirement Plans Investments (RPI) team manages the investment programs for Bank of America's retirement plans, including defined benefit pension, 401(k), and deferred compensation plans, representing approximately $95 billion in assets. The team serves as an ERISA fiduciary and is responsible for investment strategy, asset allocation, manager oversight, performance monitoring, and retirement plan governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct investment research, analysis, and due diligence across asset classes and investment managers.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, risk, and manager effectiveness.
  • Support asset allocation decisions, portfolio transitions, and implementation of investment strategies.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual financial reporting, forecasting, and fiduciary committee materials.
  • Support retirement plan governance, compliance, regulatory, and audit activities.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Treasury, Legal, consultants, actuaries, trustees, recordkeepers, and external investment managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of institutional asset management, investment analysis, or related experience.
  • Understanding of capital markets, asset allocation, investment strategies, and performance measurement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; Tableau experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of institutional asset management experience.
  • CFA, MBA, or progress toward either designation.
  • Knowledge of ERISA retirement plans and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Experience with public and private market investments, forecasting, or financial planning.
  • Familiarity with institutional investment management principles and portfolio theory.

This role offers exposure to large-scale institutional asset management and direct interaction with investment managers, consultants, actuaries, and fiduciary committees, providing broad experience across portfolio management, retirement plan investing, and ERISA governance.
