Job Description:

  • Job Summary
  • Primary job duties include teaching six courses per academic year as well as advising and mentoring political science and international studies majors. This position requires a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, to maintaining an active research agenda, and to service and community outreach. This is a one-year appointment with opportunity for renewal.
  • Authority and Accountability
  • This position reports to the Chair of the Political Science Department and has no direct reports or budget authorization responsibility.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Political Science (ABD near completion will be considered)
  • Undergraduate teaching experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in the comparative politics and international relations of the Middle East and North Africa

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to teach lower-level American politics courses and a research methods course.
  • Ability to teach courses with a thematic focus on gender politics, ethnic politics, international political economy, international law, normative political theory, and/or environmental politics.
  • Experience with high-impact teaching practices and with program leadership.

Additional Job Information:

The position is a Contingent II, full-time, exempt position
