Description

Description

The Outbound Fulfillment Manager at GoodBuy Gear is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day outbound operations, including picking, packing, and shipping. This position owns the performance of the outbound department, ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately, on time, and as cost-effectively as possible.

The Outbound Filfillment Manager is expected to independently manage their team, drive operational improvements, and take full accountability for departmental performance.

Full-time- Salaried

M-F in our Commercial Point, Ohio Operations Center

Background check required

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Run daily outbound operations. Lead pick, pack, and ship so orders go out accurately and on time. Build the daily staffing plan, assign work, and allocate labor to match demand.
  • Own the 2-business-day shipping SLA. Track aging orders, spot orders at risk of missing the SLA, and act before they ship late.
  • Lead and develop your team. Coach, mentor, and train outbound employees to meet productivity (UPH), quality, and attendance expectations. Handle performance conversations and corrective action, and lead onboarding and training for new hires.
  • Keep the floor safe. Enforce safety standards, report and follow up on incidents, and keep stations clean, stocked, organized, and standardized.
  • Protect accuracy. Run daily audits of shipping accuracy, mis-sorts, and split shipments, and follow outbound procedures consistently.
  • Solve problems as they arise. Be the first point of contact for outbound exceptions such as missing items and pick or pack issues. Find root causes and put lasting fixes in place.
  • Reduce shipping costs. Bring shipping cost down as a percentage of net revenue through packaging, carrier selection, fewer split shipments, and process changes. (You can add the 14% to 12% target here if you decide to publish it.)
  • Manage supplies. Keep enough packaging and shipping materials on hand so nothing slows the line.
  • Work with other teams. Partner with Customer Care on order issues and with other departments when they affect outbound.
  • Track and report performance. Monitor department KPIs, drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost, and report results, risks, and initiatives to senior leadership.
