Description

HOH Water Technology is a third-generation, family-owned water treatment company proudly celebrating over 58 years in business. Our success has always been about more than water treatment. It is about investing in people and creating lasting impact for our clients, coworkers, and community. We believe our people are our greatest competitive advantage, and we have built a culture centered around our Core Values of Accountability, Creativity, Teamwork, and Service. You'll join a growing, privately held Certified Evergreen company with a strong culture, long-term stability, and a commitment to investing in people, innovation, and sustainable growth for generations to come.

We are looking for a Water Safety Account Manager who wants to be the trusted partner behind our clients' water safety programs. This position combines client service, technical compliance, and revenue retention to keep facilities safe, protect regulatory compliance, and reinforce HOH's value as a long-term water safety partner.

This is a remote role based near Chicago or Detroit, with 25-50% travel to client sites expected.

About the Role

At HOH, you will have the opportunity to become the trusted face of our Water Safety program while working alongside a leadership team that genuinely cares about people.

This is a highly visible, client-facing role on our Technical Services Team that owns the client relationship for HOH's Water Safety program base. The Account Manager is the primary point of contact for an assigned book of business, translating technical program requirements into real-world outcomes that keep facilities safe and clients compliant with their Water Management Programs.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience of $90,000-$120,000.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical and Dental Insurance with generous employer contributions, HSA contributions, 401(k) with company matching, Life Insurance, and much more.
  • Generous Time Off: PTO and paid holidays, including HOH's year-end holiday break.
  • Profit Sharing Bonus: Participate in our company-wide profit-sharing program.
  • Engaging Culture: Caring leaders who invest in people and create meaningful opportunities for growth and connection.
  • Career Growth: Ongoing professional development, technical training, industry education, and leadership development opportunities.

You'll Love This Role If...

  • You're genuinely motivated by client success. Safety outcomes matter to you more than task completion, and you build trusted relationships at every level of a client organization.
  • You have a compliance mindset. You understand that Water Management Program actions are not optional, and you treat non-compliance as an urgent problem that deserves a deliberate resolution path.
  • You're organized and systematic. You manage a multi-account book of business with precision. Documentation, scheduling, and follow-through are how you operate.
  • You're a clear communicator. You can translate complex regulatory requirements into plain language and you're comfortable having difficult conversations with clients.
  • You're collaborative. You work in close partnership with the Product Manager and the broader Technical Services team while keeping clear ownership of your client relationships.
  • You bring domain credibility. You understand Legionella risk management and water safety compliance well enough to be the go-to technical resource for your clients.

What You'll Be Doing

Account Management

  • Retain and grow an assigned book of Water Safety accounts through consistent, high-value service.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders at multiple levels, including facilities, operations, infection control, and administration.
  • Grow revenue within the existing client base by identifying and delivering solutions that address evolving compliance needs, including Water Management Programs, filters, supplemental disinfection, Legionella testing, and remediation products.
  • Facilitate contract renewals proactively and maintain current agreements for every account in your portfolio.
  • Conduct scheduled business reviews in accordance with HOH service guidelines to reinforce value and strengthen the client relationship.

Water Safety Compliance Management

  • Own compliance outcomes for the assigned client base, ensuring each account meets the requirements of its active Water Management Program and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate client Water Safety Committee meetings at the frequency defined by service agreements, driving agenda clarity and documenting outcomes.
  • Maintain a complete and current compliance log for all accounts, communicate non-compliance with a clear remediation path, and execute a deliberate off-ramp plan for clients who remain non-compliant after notification.
  • Coordinate Legionella sampling in accordance with each client's Water Management Program, whether through direct collection, client coordination, or engagement of Water Quality Engineers.
  • Ensure all water safety documentation, including service reports, lab reports, Legionella test results, and disinfection reports, is captured accurately and completely in the system of record.

Program Implementation & Technical Support

  • Implement new Water Management Programs for incoming clients in coordination with the Water Safety Product Manager, who owns program design and content while you own onboarding execution and client-facing delivery.
  • Drive program implementation through the verification and validation steps defined by ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188 and each client's active Water Management Program.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day technical resource for clients, answering compliance questions, interpreting program requirements, and guiding facility contacts through their obligations.
  • Perform or assist with environmental and facility risk assessments in support of program implementation or remediation efforts.
  • Escalate product, content, or technical resource gaps to the Water Safety Product Manager. You identify the need at the account level; the Product Manager resolves it at the program level.

Requirements

  • ASSE 12080 Legionella Water Safety and Management Certification strongly preferred and required within 1 year of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Other relevant water safety/water treatment industry certifications (e.g., CWT) are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Legionella risk management, ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188/514, AAMI ST-108, and water safety compliance.
  • Experience in water safety, water treatment, environmental health, engineering, microbiology, or related technical fields.
  • Experience in account management, client services, or compliance-driven programs.
  • Proven ability to manage a multi-account book of business with strong documentation, scheduling, and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into plain language for facility contacts and decision makers.
  • Comfort having difficult conversations with non-compliant clients and driving them to resolution.
  • Experience building relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels of a client organization.
  • Proficiency with CRM, Microsoft Office, and related business systems.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time and maintain a valid driver's license.
