SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to perform assignments requiring judgment and problem-solving skills relating to robotic mig-welding processes. Assist with set up and change over’s as it relates to mig welding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• •Adopt a specific group of cells and focus on all aspects of welding robustness for the assigned area.
• •Teach robots points for optimum mig weld robustness.
• •Adjust weld fixtures to control end product dimensions and as well as mig weld gap/robustness.
• •Develop preventative maintenance procedures related to weld fixtures and weld guns.
• •Improve process robustness, uptime and cycle time by researching and improving weld consumables.
• •Maintain shim adjustment logs for assigned area.
• •Document and improve welding parameters.
• •Provides input in evaluation of equipment and processes.
• •Understand incoming part quality and its effect on mig weld/dimensional robustness.
• •Performs other functions as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Prefer an associate’s degree in a technical field. Minimum of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 3-5years of experience in welding and welding techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
