Summary
About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. It is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
- Plan welding, container, fuel cell, and radiator repair workloads to meet production requirements.
- Assign work, provide technical guidance, and review completed tasks for quality and accuracy.
- Identify and resolve workflow or production problems and adjust operations to maintain efficiency.
- Carry out supervisory duties including performance management, training recommendations, leave approval, and participation in hiring and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with hazardous materials and hazardous waste regulations, maintain required documentation, and support safe work practices.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Welder Supervisor without more than normal supervision, including following instructions to plan and sequence daily work; assign routine tasks and explain standard work methods to employees; monitor work in progress, identify straightforward problems, and take corrective action within established procedures; determine basic equipment and material needs to coordinate work with other units as directed. . - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading) Ability to Lead or Supervise Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Metals Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments
