Job Summary

The HRIS Reporting Specialist is responsible for developing and supporting reporting solutions that provide clear, reliable, and actionable workforce information. The role primarily works within Workday while leveraging the systems, tools, and data sources best suited to deliver each project. The role clarifies business questions and needs with stakeholders, proactively explores opportunities, and brings forward appropriate reporting approaches and solutions for consideration, such as custom reports, dashboards, hubs, alerts, Worksheets, Workday Prism data solutions, and other analytics resources. This role requires the ability to thoughtfully guide reporting solutions through the appropriate stages, which may include brainstorming, research, format and tool selection, testing, validation, and rollout. The role requires sound judgment, dependable follow-through, and the ability to manage competing reporting priorities while delivering accurate work on time.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Proactively identify business questions, data gaps, and opportunities for greater insight; partner with stakeholders to explore needs and translate them into practical, data-driven reporting solutions.

Design, build, test, and maintain Workday custom reports, including advanced, matrix, composite, trending, and other report types.

Create and maintain calculated fields, prompts, filters, drill-downs, and report logic that produce accurate and understandable results.

Develop and support dashboards, worklets, scorecards, and self-service reporting experiences for managers, HR partners, and leaders.

Confirm report accuracy before deployment by comparing results to source data, testing a range of scenarios, reconciling discrepancies, and incorporating peer or stakeholder review.

Test reporting security and audience access to confirm users can view the appropriate data without exposing restricted information.

Investigate report discrepancies, data-quality concerns, performance issues, failed schedules, and unexpected changes in report output.

Build and maintain recurring report schedules, alerts, notifications, and report distributions; support users with report access and delivery questions.

Lead Workday Prism Analytics, Worksheets, and external-data reporting by preparing, mapping, transforming, joining, validating, and documenting data.

Maintain and support the reporting tools and technologies used by the team; research and evaluate additional tools, features, and capabilities that could improve reporting efficiency, functionality, and the end-user experience.

Review Workday releases for reporting impacts and opportunities; test new functionality and update reports, dashboards, guides, and communications as needed.

Maintain reporting governance by monitoring usage, reviewing report health, improving naming and design standards, consolidating duplicates, and retiring outdated solutions.

Create and maintain report documentation, validation templates, process guides, and training resources; provide demonstrations and support to reporting users.

Create clear, user-friendly resources, guides, and instructions as needed to help end users understand, access, and effectively use reports and dashboards.

Partner with HRIS analysts, subject matter experts, IT, and vendors on projects involving acquisitions, organizational changes, mass data activity, and new reporting needs.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, usability, data trust, and self-service access.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management or Human Resources; or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience with Workday or Oracle 3 years preferred. Expertise in business processes, security, reporting, integrations, and new functionality implementation is preferred.

The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
