Position Summary

The White City Yard Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Pacific Recycling’s White City feeder yard. This position leads the yard team, coordinates material movement and outbound shipments, and serves as the primary point of contact for operational issues at the location. This is a hands-on working manager position. Because White City is a small yard, this person will spend a significant portion of their time working alongside the yard team—moving and loading material, operating equipment, helping prepare shipments, and completing other daily yard work—while also providing leadership and direction to the team.

Key Responsibilities

· Work alongside and supervise White City yard employees, assigning daily work and establishing priorities.

· Lead by example and participate directly in day-to-day yard operations.

· Ensure the yard operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company expectations.

· Oversee material movement, loading, unloading, storage, and shipment preparation.

· Coordinate outbound shipments and transportation needs with the Eugene transportation team.

· Work closely with the White City Scale Manager to coordinate yard, scale, and driver activities.

· Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day operational issues and take ownership of resolving problems.

· Provide coaching and feedback, conduct performance reviews, and address employee performance and attendance issues.

· Communicate significant staffing, safety, equipment, customer, and operational issues to the Eugene Yard Manager.

· Monitor yard equipment, housekeeping, and overall organization.

· Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

· Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

· Experience in scrap metal, recycling, industrial, warehouse, transportation, construction, or a similar environment preferred.

· Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and take ownership of issues.

· Willingness to perform physical, hands-on yard work and operate equipment as needed.

· Comfortable working outdoors around heavy equipment and trucks.

· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Physical & Equipment Requirements

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work on uneven surfaces throughout the workday.

· Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to safely climb in and out of equipment and trucks.

· Ability to operate or learn to operate yard equipment, including forklifts, loaders, excavators, and other mobile equipment as needed.

· Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, scrap metal, and other industrial materials.

· Ability to wear required PPE, including safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, and other protective equipment as required.

· Must be able to safely perform the essential physical functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

· 8 Paid Holidays

· Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
