POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Join the Downtown YMCA team as a Youth and Family Department Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in supporting and enhancing our community programs focused on youth and family development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and well-being of children and families through engaging and impactful programming.
***Starting at $14.00 per hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing department programs including Child Watch, School Age Care, and Summer Day Camp
- Support daily operations of youth and family programs, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality activities and experiences for children and families
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community partners to promote program participation and address concerns
- Maintain program records, attendance, and compliance with YMCA policies and safety standards
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising program staff and volunteers
- Contribute to the development of new program ideas and initiatives to meet community needs

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
- Must complete all required annual compliance training within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
- Must be 21 years old with experience in working with infants, children, and families.
- Scheduling, supervising and evaluating staff, address parent concerns and communicate effectively both oral and written.
- Must exemplify and support the philosophy of the YMCA.
