As an Account Specialist 1, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of financial administration to ensure the business and corporate deadlines are met, keeping in line with regulatory compliance as well as team and department procedures.

This role would be based in Vancouver and would have an in office requirement of 2-3 days in office per week.

What you’ll accomplish with us
As an Account Specialist 1, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
- Analyze and process client/broker premium and commission accounts.
- Control high volume data received from the bank for client payments, investigating discrepancies and non-payment with a focus on customer retention.
- Daily and monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Preparation of daily bank deposit, including generation of corresponding journals.
- Collaborate with other team members and business units to streamline and document processes.
- Generation of client refund cheques.
- Coordination with other Account Specialists to determine rotation of required office tasks.
- Analyze financial control reports and ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Preparation of accounting entries and/or manual premium adjustments.
- Develop and maintain standard financial team documentation for processes and procedures according to specifications within business requirements.

· Has 1-2 years of Group Insurance financial experience and knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practices

The typical hiring range for this position is between $50,000 and $55,000 CAD per year; the base salary offered may vary depending on knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role.
