To help deliver a strong pipeline of work we have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Planner to join our team in Queensland.
Specifically, we are looking for a Town Planning Super Star, with 10 to 15 years’ experience working across the energy, construction materials, or infrastructure sectors.
Client facing consulting experience would be beneficial but not essential if you have experience in managing large complex multidisciplinary projects.
While our APAC Planning team is made up of a group of 60+ highly skilled statutory and environmental planners, our QLD team, predominantly located in Brisbane, is made up of 13 planners who share an enthusiastic approach to life and work, creating a supportive team environment that is very eager to welcome new team members.
We collaborate closely with our 23 in-house practices to deliver a comprehensive service to clients across various sectors. In this role you will enjoy collaborative working with industry leading professionals across the APAC SLR community.
Responsibilities
No two days are often the same but general responsibilities will include:
- Managing the delivery of planning approvals of varying levels of complexity
- Delivering planning analysis and research via a commercially astute lens to confidently deliver exceptional results
- Project Managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across various sectors
- Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members, particularly, across other technical disciplines
- Working closely with the team lead to drive team and company growth
- Conducting thorough technical reviews and mentoring / development of junior staff
- Liaising with clients, councils, consultants & other government agencies
- Using your expertise to work across multi-disciplinary projects within a consulting environment
- Business development and high-level client relationship management
Experience
Not only will you bring a great attitude and enthusiastic approach to your work, you will also have:
- A degree in Town Planning or equivalent
- A proven record in delivering client outcomes
- Experience in the preparation and delivery of planning advice and DAs, with an understanding of both environmental and land use planning permits highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing multidisciplinary projects
- A thorough understanding of project budgets and deliverables while maintaining excellent client service that we are known for
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
- Ability to take the initiative and be proactive in your workplace and implement new ideas
