Are you passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights that shape business strategy? As a Business Analyst III at Amazon, you will tackle ambiguous, high-impact problems by combining deep analytical expertise with a thorough understanding of business objectives. In this role, you will own end-to-end analytics solutions — from defining the problem to delivering strategic recommendations that influence long-term decisions. You will partner with cross-functional teams, mentor fellow analysts, and drive continuous improvement across processes and mechanisms. If you are a curious, self-motivated problem solver who thrives on making data-driven impact at scale, we want to hear from you.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Analyze complex business problems across multiple domains, synthesizing data and business knowledge to generate strategic recommendations that inform organizational decisions and roadmap priorities.
  • - Design and implement scalable analytics solutions using SQL, spreadsheets, and visualization tools, while proactively identifying opportunities to standardize and simplify existing processes.
  • - Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and technical partners such as Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Scientists to unlock new insights, onboard new data sources, and validate data accuracy.
  • - Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership through written narratives and verbal presentations, translating granular analysis into clear, compelling stories that drive alignment and action.
  • - Mentor analysts within your organization by sharing best practices in business analysis, data modeling, and insights generation, while driving operational excellence through process improvement.
  • A day in the life
  • You might start your morning reviewing key performance metrics and investigating an unexpected trend, then pivot to a working session with stakeholders to scope a new analytics project. After lunch, you could be writing a narrative document that frames a strategic recommendation for leadership, followed by a peer review of a teammate's SQL code. Throughout it all, you are balancing short-term requests with longer-term initiatives on your roadmap, choosing the right tool for each problem and ensuring your solutions remain scalable.
