Dialysis Certified Patient Care Technician DSD

Schedule: Full-Time | 3 Days per Week (~12+ Hour Shifts) | NO Sunday Shifts | NO Overnight On-Call

• Experience Required: Minimum 1+ Years Direct Hemodialysis Experience
• Licensure / Certification: Current Ohio Certified Dialysis Technician (OCDT) or Active National CCHT / BONENT

Retention Bonus Opportunity

This role is eligible for a $6,000 retention bonus for dialysis-experienced candidates not currently employed by DaVita, paid out in milestone installments over your service with the Village. (Full terms, eligibility, and payout milestones will be detailed during the offer process.)

About DaVita SNF Dialysis (DSD)

Approximately 10% of all dialysis patients reside in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) and are transported to outpatient clinics three times a week; placing a significant physical burden on patients.

DaVita SNF Dialysis (DSD) brings high-quality renal care directly on-site to residents inside an intimate, modern 6-chair dialysis den. In this role, you partner directly with a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver life-sustaining hemodialysis without the chaos of large chronic clinics or hospital transport delays, backed by all the capabilities, technology, and resources DaVita has to offer.

What You Can Expect & What You’ll Do

In this role, you take direct ownership of ongoing patient care to ensure each resident's dialysis treatment stays safe, comfortable, and on track.

• •Direct 1-on-1 Patient Care: Spend the majority of your day providing hands-on dialysis care. Perform sterile cannulation of complex AV fistulas and grafts, monitor vital signs and treatment tolerance, and ensure resident comfort and dignity.
• •Autonomous & Independent Setting: Work hand-in-hand with your Den RN inside an autonomous 6-chair suite. You will apply your core clinical skills to monitor patients before, during, and after treatment, track fluid removal, and respond quickly to clinical changes.
• •Technical & Machine Operations: Set up, prime, disinfect, and troubleshoot Fresenius hemodialysis machines (2008T / Bibag). Maintain water treatment systems across diverse den setups—including both central water treatment rooms and individual portable Reverse Osmosis (RO) units—and complete daily water quality testing and strict infection control protocols.
• •Holistic Care & Coordination: Assist residents with comfortable transfers, pre- and post-treatment weight measurements, and collaborate closely with SNF facility care teams and nephrologists.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must Have:

• •Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• •Clinical Experience: Minimum 1+ years of direct hemodialysis experience (in-center, hospital acute, or SNF setting).
• •Certification: Must hold an active Ohio Certified Dialysis Technician (OCDT) credential or active national certification ( CCHT via NNCC or CHT/CCNT via BONENT).
• •Life Support: Current BLS / CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to hire).
• •Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and comfort with electronic documentation / EMR (MS Office / Word / Outlook).

Nice-to-Haves:

• •Experience in preceptor, training, or healthcare education roles.
• •Experience with Fresenius 2008T machines and central/portable RO water systems.
