Who we need
Reporting to the VP, VAS Strategy & Operations, we are hiring a Director, Growth & Innovation Operations to accelerate the execution of strategic priorities across Altus Group’s Valuation Advisory Services (VAS) business. You will turn opportunities for commercial growth, operational improvement, and technology-enabled innovation into initiatives that deliver measurable results. Working across VAS, Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Enablement, and Operations, you will establish clear priorities, align teams, and lead initiatives from concept through implementation and adoption. This is a hands-on, player-coach role. You will directly lead a Senior Analyst and work with resources across the organization to strengthen accountability, improve visibility into performance, and build more effective, scalable ways of working. You will also personally own critical initiatives, develop plans, solve problems, and drive execution.
This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, Ontario.
What’s in it for you
Strategic, measurable impact. Altus Group brings together commercial real estate expertise, data, and technology to deliver value to clients. This is an opportunity to make strategy happen. You will play a meaningful role in advancing how VAS operates and grows, taking ownership of initiatives that improve commercial performance, introduce new capabilities, and create lasting operational improvements.
Influence the direction the business takes. You will work closely with senior leadership and collaborate across commercial, operational, and technology teams to solve challenges that extend beyond any one function. You will have the opportunity to bring structure to complex priorities, connect people around shared goals, and help leadership make informed decisions through clearer performance insights and accountability.
The chance to lead, build, and deliver. You will develop talent, draw on expertise across the organization, and remain close to the work that turns ideas into results. With a mandate spanning growth, operations, and innovation, you will take ownership and have the breadth and complexity to continue developing as a leader while building processes and capabilities that support the business over time.
Help shape the future of technology-enabled services. You will join a team actively exploring how AI, automation, and new technology can transform a people-driven professional services business. Rather than simply developing innovation strategies, you will help bring new capabilities into everyday operations, learn what works, and build scalable approaches that deliver meaningful business value.
As our new Director, Growth & Innovation Operations, you will
● Turn strategic priorities into results. You will translate complex business opportunities into clear objectives, actionable plans, and measurable outcomes. You will lead initiatives from early discovery through execution, addressing obstacles, managing competing priorities, and ensuring work progresses to completion.
● Drive commercial and operational improvement. You will identify opportunities to strengthen commercial performance, simplify processes, and improve efficiency across VAS. You will work with business leaders to develop practical solutions, establish clear ownership, and introduce repeatable ways of working that support sustainable growth.
● Bring innovation into everyday operations. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and business teams to evaluate and advance technology, automation, and AI-enabled opportunities. You will help translate business needs into practical requirements, coordinate implementation, and support adoption so new capabilities deliver value beyond launch.
● Create visibility and accountability. You will own weekly and monthly reporting across commercial performance, pipeline, bookings, revenue, operational initiatives, and innovation adoption. Working with existing data and reporting tools, you will connect information across the business, identify trends and risks, and translate insights into clear recommendations and actions for leadership. You will establish practical operating rhythms that strengthen accountability and support informed decisions.
● Align teams and accelerate execution. You will bring together stakeholders across functions, clarify responsibilities, and navigate dependencies that could slow progress. You will reconcile competing priorities, resolve roadblocks, and create the alignment required to move complex initiatives forward.
● Lead and develop talent. You will coach and support a Senior Analyst while coordinating expertise and resources across the organization. You will balance strategic direction with hands-on problem-solving, helping build the capabilities, discipline, and ownership needed to deliver consistently.
You bring
● The track record of delivering business outcomes. You have led complex, cross-functional initiatives in business operations, growth operations, transformation, product operations, consulting, or a related environment. You can point to meaningful improvements you have delivered, whether in commercial performance, operational efficiency, technology adoption, or how a business operates. Your experience extends beyond developing strategies or managing programs to owning implementation and results. Experience in commercial real estate, valuation, professional services, software, data, or another technology-enabled services business would be valuable.
● The ability to create direction from ambiguity. You have taken ownership of business challenges where the solution, scope, and path forward were not clearly defined. You know how to assess what matters, challenge assumptions, make sound trade-offs, and translate competing priorities into a practical course of action. You create enough structure to accelerate progress without introducing unnecessary complexity.
● The experience navigating complex execution. You have managed interconnected initiatives with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and competing demands. You understand how to establish meaningful governance, identify risks early, and maintain momentum when priorities shift or decisions become difficult. You use performance measures and reporting to drive action and accountability, not simply to document activity.
● The understanding of technology-enabled business change. You have partnered with Product, Engineering, or technology teams to translate operational needs into solutions that work in practice. You understand how requirements, prioritization, testing, release readiness, and change adoption connect to successful delivery. You can assess the business value of new capabilities, including automation and AI, without needing to be the technical expert. Exposure to AI-enabled transformation, workflow automation, or technology adoption initiatives would also be an asset.
● The judgment and influence to lead across functions. You have worked closely with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams, navigating differing perspectives and making recommendations that move decisions forward. You can connect commercial, operational, and technology considerations, explain trade-offs, and build commitment among people who do not report to you.
● The leadership approach. You have experience developing people and guiding teams while remaining personally accountable for complex work. You know when to delegate, when to coach, and when to step directly into a challenge. You are comfortable moving between executive discussions and detailed execution, and you
