You will provide strategic legal counsel, shape compliance initiatives, and help ensure ABB's continued commitment to conducting business with integrity while enabling sustainable growth.

The work model for the role is: hybrid #hybrid

Preferred location: Europe (other locations may be considered for highly qualified candidates)

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Area globally. Main stakeholders include senior business leaders, Legal & Integrity teams, Finance, Procurement, Internal Controls, ABB Group Compliance teams, and divisional leadership teams across the business.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Serving as the primary ABAC advisor for Electrification, providing strategic guidance on anti-corruption laws, regulatory developments, and compliance risks.
  • Overseeing and continuously improving Electrification's ABAC compliance framework, ensuring alignment with ABB Group policies while addressing business-specific risk exposures.
  • Advising leadership on ABAC considerations related to commercial partnerships, market expansion, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Supporting integrity due diligence activities in mergers and acquisitions, including risk assessments, remediation planning, and post-acquisition integration efforts.
  • Managing the annual ABAC risk assessment cycle, defining risk indicators, monitoring programs, and remediation priorities across the business.
  • Overseeing compliance monitoring tools and reporting mechanisms, including the Integrity 360 dashboard, to identify emerging risks and prompt timely corrective actions.
  • Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to embed effective ABAC controls into business processes and decision-making.
  • Defining and delivering risk-based compliance training and awareness initiatives for employees, leaders, and high-risk functions.
  • Shaping ABAC communications strategies, that support ethical decision-making and promote a healthy culture of integrity across the organization.
  • Evaluating emerging compliance technologies and digital solutions to enhance monitoring, screening, and program effectiveness.
  • Reviewing due diligence outputs from ABB's third-party management (TPM) buy and sell processes, partnering with divisions to assess, mitigate, and address identified integrity risks in a timely and practical manner.
  • Acting as a subject matter specialist on ABAC matters across the business, providing support to Trade Counsel and other Legal & Integrity team members on complex compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Building trusted relationships across ABB Group and Business Area functions, carefully aligning stakeholders with differing priorities and driving coordinated legal and business outcomes through collaboration and teamwork.

You will join a global, highly collaborative, and purpose-driven Legal & Integrity team where integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do.

Qualifications for the role

  • You have 10+ years of experience in Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC), compliance, ethics, investigations, or related legal and compliance functions within a global organization, law firm, or a combination of both. Ideal candidate will have direct experience in dealing with ABAC issues in China, India and other APAC countries.
