Job Purpose:
The Network Security Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure and cybersecurity technologies. This position serves as the primary technical resource for network security, firewall administration, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response activities while supporting the reliable operation of enterprise network services. The Systems Administrator works closely with technology teams, service providers, and business stakeholders to identify, mitigate, and remediate security risks, maintain secure network operations, and ensure the availability, performance, and integrity of business systems and infrastructure. The role also supports network lifecycle management, technical documentation, regulatory compliance requirements, and the continuous improvement of the organization’s cybersecurity posture
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Administer and support endpoint security, antivirus, malware protection, and related cybersecurity technologies.
· Monitor network and security systems for performance, availability, security events, and potential threats.
· Investigate, respond to, and coordinate remediation activities for security alerts, suspicious activity, vulnerabilities, and operational incidents.
· Coordinate security monitoring, incident response, and threat remediation activities with internal teams and managed security service providers.
· Perform vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, security hardening, risk assessments, and security-control reviews.
· Implement and maintain network and endpoint security controls, standards, and best practices to protect enterprise systems and infrastructure.
· Administer firewall platforms, security policies, access rules, virtual private network (VPN) services, and related security controls.
· Manage enterprise certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, monitoring, and remediation of expiring certificates supporting network, security, and infrastructure services.
· Support enterprise network infrastructure, including switching, routing, wireless networking, and remote-access technologies.
· Support change management, system upgrades, firmware maintenance, and technology lifecycle activities.
· Maintain network diagrams, security documentation, inventories, standards, and administrative records.
· Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, after-hours maintenance, and on-call support activities.
· Provide technical support and escalation assistance for network and security-related issues.
· Collaborate with infrastructure, customer care, automation, MES, and other technology teams to support secure and reliable business operations.
Job Specifications and Qualifications:
Knowledge & Skills:
· Experience with endpoint security, antivirus, malware protection, email security, and vulnerability management solutions.
· Knowledge of firewall administration, network segmentation, access control, and security best practices.
· Experience with vulnerability remediation, incident response, security event investigation, and risk mitigation activities.
· Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, wireless networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
· Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Experience administering Cisco Switches, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), Meraki Firewalls, or comparable networking and security platforms
· Security+, CCNA, or similar certifications preferred
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
- Associates degree in Computer Science/Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
This position requires bending, typing, lifting (up to 40 lbs.), standing, sitting and walking throughout the facility.
