Our vision is simple. In our commitment to the Southeast, we create architecture that enriches community through a culture of design excellence and expertise, innovation and collaborative engagement.
What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to creating spaces that enrich communities with lasting impact. Our projects are driven by a deep understanding of local culture, needs, and aspirations, resulting in designs that resonate with and enhance the communities they serve.
At LS3P, we don't just design buildings; we create iconic landmarks that define skylines, inspire people, and transform spaces. Join us in shaping the future of architecture and design in the Southeast!
As an Experiential Graphic Designer , you will help shape how people experience places through the integration of graphic design, branding, storytelling, and the built environment. As part of LS3P's Experiential Graphic Design team, you will collaborate with architects, interior designers, planners, strategists, and clients to create meaningful experiences that connect people to place.
Our work extends beyond signage and wayfinding. We help clients identify, express, and communicate what makes a place unique through brand integration, environmental graphics, placemaking, interpretive storytelling, donor recognition, exhibits, and immersive branded environments. We believe the most successful experiences emerge when graphic design, architecture, interiors, and community identity work together to create a cohesive and memorable experience.
We are seeking a designer with strong graphic design fundamentals and a passion for applying those skills to physical environments. The ideal candidate is confident in typography, layout, color, visual hierarchy, and concept development, and can independently develop and communicate design solutions from early ideas through implementation. Experience working within architectural, experiential, environmental, or spatial design environments is highly valued but not absolutely required as long as you have a willingness to learn.
This role is ideal for a designer with approximately 3-8 years of professional experience who is looking to expand their impact through meaningful collaboration, design excellence, and place-based storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Design Strategy & Concept Development
Develop compelling experiential graphic concepts that support project goals, brand narratives, and user experiences.
Translate research, stakeholder input, and project vision into clear visual and spatial design solutions.
Participate in workshops, brainstorming sessions, and design charrettes to uncover authentic stories, cultural connections, and opportunities for placemaking.
Create concept presentations, visual narratives, mood boards, and design studies that communicate design intent.
Experiential Graphic Design
Design environmental graphics, branded environments, interpretive experiences, donor recognition programs, exhibits, and placemaking elements.
Develop visual systems that integrate seamlessly with architecture and interiors.
Apply strong graphic design principles, including typography, composition, color theory, imagery, and hierarchy, to create engaging and impactful experiences.
Produce presentation-quality graphics, renderings, diagrams, and visual communications.
Signage & Wayfinding
Design signage and wayfinding systems that improve navigation, accessibility, and user experience.
Develop sign families, messaging frameworks, and information hierarchies.
Read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, and site information.
Coordinate experiential graphic solutions with architectural and interior design teams.
Documentation & Implementation
Prepare design intent packages, drawing sets, schedules, and production documentation.
Coordinate with fabricators, vendors, consultants, and project teams to support implementation.
Participate in material research, mockups, prototype reviews, and installation oversight.
Review design deliverables throughout production to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with project goals.
Client & Team Collaboration
Present design concepts and work-in-progress reviews to project teams and clients.
Receive and incorporate feedback while maintaining design integrity.
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting project schedules and deadlines.
Collaborate across disciplines to create integrated, meaningful design outcomes.
Professional Growth
Stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, materials, and best practices within graphic design, branding, wayfinding, experiential design, and the built environment.
Contribute to the continued growth and evolution of LS3P's Experiential Graphic Design practice and the design culture of the firm at large.
Required Qualifications
3-8 years of professional experience in graphic design, experiential graphic design, environmental graphic design, branding, visual communications, or a related discipline.
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Experiential Design, Spatial Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Exceptional graphic design skills with demonstrated expertise in typography, layout, composition, color theory, visual hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
Ability to communicate design ideas through sketches, presentations, diagrams, and visualizations.
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a multidisciplinary design environment.
Willingness to travel periodically throughout the Southeast region.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing for the built environment, including signage, wayfinding, environmental graphics, exhibits, branded environments, placemaking, or architectural graphics.
Familiarity with architectural drawings and design coordination processes.
Working knowledge of ADA guidelines, accessibility standards, and experiential design best practices.
Experience with SketchUp, CAD, Revit, Enscape, or similar visualization and documentation tools.
Illustration, information design, motion graphics, brand design, photography, or other related creative skills.
Experience presenting directly to clients and leading portions of project design efforts.
Portfolio Expectations
Candidates should submit a portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design fundamentals, including typography, layout, visual identity, storytelling, and concept development. Experience applying graphic design within physical environments, branded spaces, signage systems, exhibits, placemaking initiatives, or other experiential design projects is highly desirable.
This role offers an opportunity to help tell the stories of people, places, and communities through thoughtful, integrated design. If you are a curious, creative, and collaborative designer who is passionate about visual communication and interested in shaping meaningful experiences within the built environment, we invite you to apply and be part of our evolving Experiential Graphic Design practice.
