Description

About the Role

At Red Door, our General Managers lead their team, own the guest experience, and drive the overall success of the business.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment. You’re organized, communicate clearly, coach with care, and use data to understand what’s working and where the team can improve. When the location needs you, you’re ready to jump in alongside your team members.

As General Manager, you’ll own the day-to-day performance of your location, from recruiting, scheduling, and labor management to team member development, guest experience, sales, facility standards, and operations.

And because we’re in the business of creating memorable experiences, we want leaders who know how to have fun. You’ll help create a place where team members enjoy coming to work, and guests can’t wait to come back.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and Develop Your Team
  • Build a positive, accountable team culture that reflects Red Door’s mission and values.
  • Set clear expectations and lead through coaching, feedback, recognition, training, and performance management.
  • Lead recruiting for location-level roles, including interviewing candidates and making hiring decisions.
  • Anticipate staffing needs, support onboarding, and build schedules that meet guest demand while managing labor.
  • Own Location Performance
  • Take ownership of your location’s operational and financial results.
  • Monitor sales, labor, expenses, and other key measures; use what you learn to improve results and share action plans with leadership.
  • Manage labor and other controllable expenses in line with budgets and business needs.
  • Create Memorable Guest Experiences
  • Set the standard for Red Door hospitality by staying involved with guests and supporting your team on the floor.
  • Resolve guest concerns with care and help turn challenging moments into positive experiences.
  • Know your location’s experiences and products, and look for ways to encourage guests to return.
  • Keep the Location Ready
  • Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming location where experiences, puzzles, props, equipment, and technology work as expected.
  • Address facility and operational issues, coordinating repairs and other solutions when needed.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed and that required records and administrative tasks are completed on time.
  • Stay familiar with day-to-day responsibilities so you can train, coach, and jump in alongside your team.
  • Grow Red Door in Your Community
  • Build relationships with local businesses, schools, and organizations to grow group and corporate bookings.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales on local initiatives, and share insights about your market and opportunities to bring in more guests.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least three years of leadership or management experience, ideally in hospitality, entertainment, retail, or another guest-facing business.

  • Clear communication and the ability to build strong relationships with team members, guests, and community partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to adjust priorities as the day changes.
  • Experience building schedules and managing staffing and labor needs.
  • Comfort reviewing sales, labor, budgets, and other location results to make informed decisions.
  • Sound judgment and a willingness to take ownership of challenges.
  • Confidence in learning and using booking systems, reports, and other technology.
  • A genuine commitment to hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • A hands-on leadership style and the willingness to jump in alongside your team.

Schedule & Availability

  • Available to work a flexible schedule based on location needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be available to respond appropriately to urgent operational or staffing needs affecting the location.

  • Cleaning and resetting escape rooms between groups.
  • Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on escape rooms, props, and equipment.
  • Using computers, booking and point-of-sale systems, and other equipment needed for daily operations.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to report to the location for scheduled shifts.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 annually
  • Bonus Opportunity: Eligible for an annual bonus of up to 20%, based on applicable bonus plan terms and performance
  • Benefits: This is a full-time opportunity averaging 40+ hours per week. Along with the chance to grow as a leader and help create unforgettable guest experiences, eligible team members have access to a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; company-paid and voluntary life insurance; short-term disability; an FSA or HSA, depending on the medical plan selected; paid time off; and a 401(k).
