Hospice Aide/CNA (Albemarle County)

We’re looking for a caring and dependable Hospice Aide (CNA) to support patients in senior living communities in and around Albemarle County. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on personal care, comfort, and companionship while building meaningful relationships with patients, families, and community care teams. Responsibilities:

In this role you will provide a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients. Key duties include:

Personal Care: Assisting with hygiene, toileting, mobility, medication, and meal preparation. Health Monitoring: Measuring and recording fluid intake/output, and reporting changes to the nurse supervisor.

Documentation: Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR) and documenting services provided.

Housekeeping: Performing light housekeeping duties in the patient area.

Patient Environment: Maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment while following infection control principles.

Emergency Procedures: Recognizing and responding to emergencies.

Professional Development: Maintaining competency and registration.

Qualifications:

• •Registered by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• •Hospice experience, preferred
• •Driver’s license, personal automobile, and current automobile liability insurance

Typical Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

• •Sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, lift and walk, climb steps
• •Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• •Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
• •The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push up to 200 pounds in a wheelchair.
• •Frequent travel
