Duties

Serving as a Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems) GS-0203-7 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Workforce Support Branch (WSB) of the Human Capital Office (HCO) within the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD) in Glynco, Georgia. In this position as a Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems), you will be responsible for providing support for personnel-related programs; processing various personnel actions, including Time and Attendance (T & A); conducting research and providing technical support to employees and officials related to T&A; processing personnel actions; and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of the various program assignments. Typical duties include: Providing information systems support for automated personnel/payroll data systems. Performing routine leave audits and preparing associated reports as required. Maintaining files and records on related personnel programs Answering various questions regarding personnel processing procedures received from management, staff and members of the public Assisting with the coordination of new employee orientations. For additional assistance, please visit: USAJOBS Help Center - Update your resume now so it meets new resume requirements You qualify for this position if you meet one of the following: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service providing information systems support for human resources related programs; such as processing a variety of personnel actions in accordance to the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions, advising stakeholders on the completion of Time & Attendance (T&A) in an automated information system; conducting research and providing technical support to management and employees related to T&A, processing of personnel actions, and records management. -OR- Have successfully completed one year of graduate level education (18 semester hours) that is directly related to the work of the position. Must provide a copy of your transcripts. -OR- Possess an equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that is directly related to the position as described above. I understand that only graduate education is excess of the first 9 semester hours will be combined with the specialized experience. Must provide a copy of your transcripts. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary. Re-employed annuitants' annual salaries will be reduced by the amount of their retirement annuity and by further cost of living increases. FERS retirees receiving a FERS annuity supplement must also be aware that, like social security benefits, their FERS annuity supplement is subject to an earnings test and may be reduced if the salary earned is more than the social security exempt amount of earnings. Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of our mission, FLETC requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation as a condition of placement in this position. This review may include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs. Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary in nature; employee frequently carry light items such as employee files or pamphlets Work Environment: The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated in an office setting. The work environment involves everyday risks of discomforts that require normal safety precautions.
