It requires hard work, a lot of innovation and enthusiasm and, of course, an abundance of Purple Passion (def. a love of play, bringing play to communities and specific love of Burke and those you work with)! If you have a passion to learn more about human resources in a manufacturing environment - we have the role for you!
The Role

The role will also have opportunities to take ownership of defined projects and process improvements throughout the internship.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with new hire onboarding, including pre-employment activities, orientation preparation, documentation, and follow-up.
- Support recruiting activities, including posting positions, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communication, and preparing interview materials.
- Assist with maintaining personnel files and other HR documentation.
- Lead the new hire check-in process, gather insights and suggest improvements on information collected.
- Assist with employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and other company events.
- Support routine employee questions and direct more complex questions to the appropriate HR team member.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, tools, communications, and the employee experience.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Perform other HR-related duties and projects as assigned.
During the internship, the HR Intern will have the opportunity to:
- Gain practical experience across multiple areas of Human Resources.
- Learn how HR supports employees throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Develop experience using HR systems and working with employee data.
- Build professional communication and organizational skills.
- Gain exposure to HR practices within a manufacturing environment.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, engagement, training, and HR operations.
- Own projects from planning through implementation.
- Work directly with HR professionals and business leaders.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
