ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)

Established in 1984 to manage the settlement outlined in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA), Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) represents the collective interests of Inuvialuit. IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community‑driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations.

Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA.

The Mackenzie Hotel in Inuvik is part of the IRC Group of Companies and stands as a cornerstone of regional hospitality. Staff work together across departments like housekeeping, front desk, and management, with roles tailored to individual strengths. JOB SUMMARY

• As a Janitor at Mackenzie Hotel, you help keep our hotel clean and welcoming for guests and staff. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas within the hotel, including the lobby, hallways, washrooms, common spaces, and meeting rooms. You will follow established cleaning checklists and safety procedures. Your day starts at the hotel, and you may move between different areas as needed.
• This is a casual, full-time job starting as soon as possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clean and sanitize public areas: lobby, hallways, washrooms, common spaces, and meeting rooms.

Empty garbage and recycling bins.

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

Restock supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).

Report any maintenance or safety issues to your supervisor.

Follow cleaning checklists and safety rules.

Work as part of a team to help create a welcoming environment for guests and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Friendly and customer-focused.

Able to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.

Physically able to do cleaning work (standing, bending, lifting light to medium loads).

Reliable and on time.

Positive attitude and willing to work with others.

Experience in cleaning, janitorial, hotel, or restaurant work is an asset but not required.

Knowledge of cleaning products and safe work practices is an asset but not required.
