About the Role

As Lead AI Engineer, you will own the platform that makes AI agents capable, reliable, and increasingly autonomous. Working closely with technical and product teams, you will turn advances in AI into dependable capabilities for a procurement technology product.

What You'll Do

Build agent orchestration, context management, memory, and programmatic tool-calling systems.

Enable agents to perform real work through sandboxed code execution and permission-aware data access.

Develop evaluations that measure quality across multi-turn workflows and help investigate failures.

Integrate models and build inference infrastructure to make AI systems practical at scale.

Create shared foundations that help product engineers build and ship agent capabilities.

Lead through sound technical decisions, hands-on implementation, and support for other engineers.

What We're Looking For

At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience, including shipping LLM-powered systems used by real customers and owning them after launch.

Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on TypeScript experience; Python experience is useful.

Practical experience with agent orchestration, tool calling, and context management.

Experience with sandboxed execution, inference infrastructure, or similarly demanding production systems.

Ability to distinguish compelling demos from dependable systems through thoughtful evaluations.

Procurement technology experience is helpful but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary and meaningful equity are offered. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

This is an on-site role in Berlin, Germany.
