Key Responsibilities

Java Spring Boot Frameworks & Engineering Guidance

• •Shared Frameworks & Starters: Design, maintain, and govern Wellverse’s core Spring Boot integration starters and shared libraries (e.g., Spring Security wiring, DTO patterns, custom serialization controls, CORS, header configuration templates, and Cloud Logging/Tracing instrumentation).
• •Technical Guidance & Enablement: Provide technical leadership, architectural oversight, and hands-on guidance to application teams across Wellverse, helping them build high-performance, resilient Spring Boot microservices.
• •Code Reviews & Quality Standards: Conduct technical design reviews and pull request (PR) code reviews across integration services to enforce architectural standards, security controls, and optimal design patterns.
• •DevOps & Pipeline Standards: Define CI/CD standards for Spring Boot services using GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), container scanning/signing, GKE deployment gates, and automated testing frameworks.

Apigee API Gateway & API Governance

• •API Strategy & Management: Own the Apigee X API gateway strategy, policy frameworks, and lifecycle management for all Wellverse APIs.
• •Security & Policy Enforcement: Define and maintain standardized Apigee policies for OAuth 2.0 / JWT validation, rate limiting, quota management, threat protection, mTLS, and Client-ID enforcement.
• •API Design Standards: Establish enterprise API standards including RESTful naming conventions, OpenAPI 3.x specifications, versioning strategies, error schemas, and pagination guidelines.
• •Registry & Lifecycle Management: Govern the centralized API registry and developer portal, ensuring clear ownership, documentation, and SLA tracking across all enterprise APIs.

Event Streaming & Managed File Transfer

• •Google Managed Kafka Architecture: Own the target architecture for Google Managed Kafka, defining topic partitioning strategies, consumer group patterns, schema management (Apicurio/Avro/JSON Schema), and dead letter queue (DLQ) standards.
• •Managed File Transfer (MFT): Lead the architecture and workflow standards for managed file transfers, covering trading partner management, protocol configurations (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS), PGP encryption, and Cloud Logging integration.
• •Operational Monitoring: Coordinate with Data Engineering and Platform teams to ensure Kafka-driven event pipelines and file transfer workflows meet enterprise reliability and latency SLAs.

Solution Architecture & Integration Design

• •Enterprise Integration Strategy: Serve as the lead solution architect for all integration efforts across Wellverse's SaaS and core enterprise stack (Salesforce, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, JDE ERP, HCM, and net-new platforms).
• •Pattern Governance: Define and govern appropriate integration patterns—synchronous REST APIs for transactional flows, event-driven Kafka streaming for high-throughput async processing, and managed file transfers for batch exchanges.
• •Architecture Artifacts: Produce comprehensive integration design documents, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, API specs, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).

Minimum Requirements

• •Experience: 12+ years of enterprise integration engineering experience, with at least 3 years in an architect or lead technical role.
• •Java & Spring Boot Mastery: Expert-level Java and Spring Boot engineering capability, including Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Security 6.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data, REST API design, JPA/Hibernate, and custom Spring Boot starter development. Code-review level proficiency is required.
• •Framework Development: Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining shared common libraries, chassis frameworks, or internal developer platform (IDP) tooling for Java microservices.
• •API Management: Hands-on experience with Apigee X or Apigee Edge for API lifecycle management, policy enforcement, mTLS, and developer portal management.
• •Event Streaming: Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka, or Google Managed Kafka, including topic design, schema registry, producer/consumer patterns, and operational monitoring.
• •Cloud & Containers: Deep experience with GCP-native services (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Trace, IAM) and containerized deployments.
• •Managed File Transfer: Experience configuring and architecting MFT solutions, trading partner workflows, SFTP/AS2 protocols, and PGP key lifecycle management.

Technical Skills

• •Java Ecosystem: Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Security 6.x, Spring Cloud, Maven/Gradle, JUnit 5, Mockito, Custom Spring Starter development, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), Helm.
• •API Development & Management: Spring Boot REST APIs, OpenAPI 3.x specifications, Apigee X policy configuration (OAuth 2.0, Client-ID, rate limiting, threat protection), API governance.
• •Integration Patterns: Synchronous REST, asynchronous event-driven streaming, dead-letter queues (DLQ), retry mechanics, circuit breakers, and batch file transfers.

• •Event Streaming: Google Managed Kafka, Apache Kafka, Avro/JSON Schema, Schema Registry, consumer group management, Cloud Monitoring alerts.
• •Managed File Transfer: SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, PGP encryption, key/certificate lifecycle management, automated workflow design.
• •Cloud & GCP: GCP VPC networking, GKE deployment, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Trace, Secret Manager, IAM.
• •Security & DevOps: OWASP API Top 10, mTLS, CORS, security headers, GitHub Actions, SAST (GitHub Advanced Security), container scanning, Terraform, Git branching.
• •Documentation: OpenAPI 3.x, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), sequence and data flow diagramming, pattern documentation.

Certifications & Education

• •Certifications:
• •Google Professional Cloud Developer or Google Professional Cloud Architect (required or to be obtained within 6 months).
• •Spring Professional Certification (VMware/Broadcom) highly desirable.
• •Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience .
