Summary

You will serve as a LEAD POLICE OFFICER in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of WEPSTA SEAL BCH SECURITY DET.

Duties

  • You will instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies.
  • You will distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization.
  • You will respond to and investigate complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD, and Navy regulations, and installation directives, rules and regulations.
  • You will perform a full range of force protection, anti-terrorism and sentry duties at installations or activities with significant operational assets.

Qualifications

Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. "Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 months of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training. In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing law enforcement (LE), physical security (PS), antiterrorism (AT), and force protection (FP) functions; 2) Deploying specialized or advanced techniques, equipment, knowledge, or training; 3) Conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents; and 4) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Must be able to successfully complete the mandated 40-hour Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) to be qualified to Operate motor vehicles (i.e. sedans, cargo trucks, pickup trucks) having gross vehicle weights of 7,000 pounds or less, loading capacities of 1 ton or less, manual transmissions, and 2 or 4-wheel drive in support of operations and to transport personnel and materials throughout the installation and on public roads. With additional training, the incumbent may be required to qualify on police bicycles and other rough terrain vehicles such as ATVs and snow mobiles. Maintains proficiency for response to: installation perimeter breeches, hostage situations, vehicle borne improvised explosive device (IED), waterborne (IED) and pedestrian borne improvised explosive attacks, active shooter incidents, bomb threats, counter unmanned systems, suspicious packages and other terrorist threats, natural disasters, civil disturbances, and a myriad of law enforcement responses.
