The Department of English/Creative Writing at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the course ENG 119b—Creative Writing Workshop: Poetry, a 4-credit course offered spring semester, 2027. This course is a poetry workshop limited to twelve students, undergraduates from first-year to seniors with varying levels of experience. The class meets for three hours once a week for a total of thirteen meetings.
Candidates with an MFA in Creative Writing, at least two years of teaching experience, and publication of their poetry in significant literary journals will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is October 9, 2026.
This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
The compensation for this course is $8764.20.
