About the Opportunity
The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applications for a non-tenure track part time faculty lecturer in Foundation Year on the Boston campus.
Foundation Year is a first-year college program for first generation college students from the City of Boston. Students in Foundation Year take college credited classes with dedicated faculty who deliver a rigorous college curriculum while infusing college success skills into the learning space.
The program is currently seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered part-time instructor to teach one section of an introductory Chemistry lecture course.
The College of Professional Studies is one of ten colleges of Northeastern University, a nationally ranked private research university. Founded in 1960, the College provides lifelong experiential learning that unleashes the capacities of aspiring individuals in all stages and walks of life. The College teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students on campus and online in more than 90 programs.

Responsibilities
Qualified candidates must be prepared to work with global student populations.
Instructors in the Foundation Year program are responsible for teaching foundational courses to a diverse student body including science majors, non-science majors, and health science majors. By breaking complex concepts into engaging digestible lessons, faculty are responsible for helping student build content knowledge and analytical skills needed to success in higher-level STEM coursework.

Qualifications
Advanced degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related field. Demonstrated familiarity with undergraduate-level teaching
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to explain complex scientific methodologies to beginners
Experience navigating digital teaching tools and Learning Management Systems like Canvas.
A documented track record of utilizing active learning strategies to engage diverse or traditionally underrepresented student groups in STEM.

Pay Range:
