JOB SUMMARY: The Mail Clerk is responsible for the daily sorting, delivery, and retrieval of the mail at the Department of Interior mailroom and other off sites under general supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on primary and secondary sorting of incoming USPS and/or AMHA mails.
- Conduct daily multiple in house mail runs.
- Assist with the unloading of postal mail delivered by USPS and/or AMHA drivers.
- Process the metering of outgoing mail.
- Process express mail and parcels using express courier shipping system.
- Deliver office supplies and equipment.
- Scan packages entering the government facility.
- Provide customer service to all mailroom patrons.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Basic reading and writing education.
- Statement of Disability required.
- May require a Dept. of Homeland Security clearance.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to communicate and convey messages properly.
- Knowledge of postal courier.
Work Schedule: Thursday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
