About the role

This is a strategic, high-impact role at the heart of R&D. As Service Owner, you will take end-to-end ownership of the PPM service and a broader portfolio of R&D applications that support scientific and preclinical workflows, portfolio governance, and collaboration with external partners.

You will shape the service strategy, roadmap, and operating model, ensuring reliable, scalable, and business-aligned IT services. The role involves an expected learning curve across parts of the application portfolio, supported by domain experts and existing delivery partners.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end IT service lifecycle for Research, Preclinical, PPM, and Alliances services, from strategy and design through operations, enhancements, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and maintain a three-year service roadmap, including demand, capacity, and budget planning, in close partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Take primary ownership of the Planisware service, including operations, governance, stakeholder management, integrations, reporting, and vendor oversight.
  • Ensure reliable, high-performing service delivery that supports global R&D execution, portfolio governance, and collaboration with external partners.
  • Lead and coordinate a blended delivery model involving internal teams, nearshore and offshore resources, and external vendors.
  • Assess, prioritise, and manage incoming demand and change requests in line with business priorities, timelines, and cost models.
  • Establish and maintain service governance covering integrations, data flows, access models, and system usage, in line with Galderma standards.
  • Act as the central IT coordination point across Architecture, Security, Data, Integration, and Operations teams, ensuring alignment and effective dependency management.
  • Own vendor and contract management, including service-level definition, performance monitoring, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Drive simplification, consolidation, and continuous improvement initiatives to build a scalable and predictable service model.
  • Monitor and report on service performance, financials, resource utilisation, and technical delivery.

Key Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Systems, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT service delivery and/or application management within R&D, scientific, engineering, or product development environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Planisware, including service ownership, operations, governance, stakeholder management, integrations, reporting, and vendor management.
  • Experience with R&D and scientific application ecosystems, such as ELN, LIMS, scientific platforms, modelling and analytics tools, and collaboration or documentation solutions.
  • Strong experience working with external vendors and managed service providers in complex delivery models.
  • Solid knowledge of IT Service Management, IT Governance, Financial Management, and Vendor Management.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to service ownership and delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted partnerships across R&D, IT, and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage a broad and complex application portfolio through structured governance and prioritisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to quickly build knowledge of new applications, scientific processes, and business needs.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and influencing skills in a global matrix organisation.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and focus on continuous improvement.

What we offer in return:

  • You will be working for an organization that embraces diversity & inclusion and believe we will deliver better outcomes by reflecting the perspectives of our diverse customer base.
  • You will receive a competitive compensation package with bonus structure and extended benefit package.
  • You will participate in feedback loops, during which a personalized career path will be established.
  • You will be joining a growing company that believes in ownership from day one where everyone is empowered to grow and to take on accountability.
