The Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Outreach Coordinator supports successful implementation of RHTP initiatives through stakeholder engagement, communications management, outreach coordination, and project support activities. This role serves as a key liaison among state agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, program awardees, and other stakeholders to ensure timely communication, effective engagement, and coordinated execution of project activities.
The Outreach Coordinator collaborates closely with project leadership, workstream leads, and clients to support meeting facilitation, stakeholder communications, work planning, issue tracking, and deliverable management. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach
- Coordinate engagement activities with healthcare providers, community-based organizations, government agencies, advocacy groups, and other RHTP stakeholders.
- Maintain stakeholder contact lists, engagement trackers, and communication records.
- Support planning and facilitation of advisory committee meetings, workgroups, listening sessions, interviews, focus groups, and stakeholder forums.
- Assist with the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement plans and outreach strategies.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, materials, follow-up communications, and action item tracking.
- Support efforts to ensure stakeholder participation is inclusive, collaborative, and responsive to program goals.
Communications Management
- Draft and distribute internal and external communications, including announcements, newsletters, meeting summaries, presentations, and outreach materials.
- Maintain communication calendars and support execution of communication plans.
- Coordinate review and approval processes for stakeholder-facing communications.
- Ensure communications are clear, consistent, accessible, and aligned with client and organizational requirements.
- Support development of project messaging and materials for meetings, webinars, and stakeholder events.
Project Management Support
- Assist in development and maintenance of project workplans, timelines, and milestone trackers.
- Monitor project activities and follow up on action items to support timely completion of deliverables.
- Coordinate meetings across multiple workstreams and maintain project documentation.
- Support status reporting, risk and issue tracking, and routine project management activities.
- Prepare meeting agendas, briefing materials, meeting notes, and summary reports.
- Maintain organized project files and communication records in accordance with project requirements.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to project leadership and workstream leads.
Collaboration and Relationship Management
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal project team members.
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for stakeholder questions and coordination needs.
- Collaborate across multiple project teams to ensure alignment of communications, outreach efforts, and project activities.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline stakeholder engagement and project management processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop stakeholder-facing materials, meeting summaries, presentations, and project communications.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, healthcare providers, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills, including experience managing multiple priorities, tracking action items, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience planning and supporting meetings, workgroups, webinars, stakeholder engagement activities, and other outreach events.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration across multiple teams and workstreams while demonstrating sound judgment, professionalism, and customer service.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify risks, escalate issues appropriately, and support implementation of solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams, with strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Communications, Health Policy, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience supporting stakeholder engagement, communications, project coordination, healthcare consulting, public sector initiatives, or related programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating meetings, workgroups, or stakeholder engagement activities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Experience developing presentations, reports, meeting materials, and communication products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Medicaid, public health, healthcare transformation, or state government initiatives.
- Familiarity with stakeholder engagement, community outreach, facilitation, or communications planning.
- Experience supporting large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, health policy, or rural health programs.
- Experience using project management tools and collaboration platforms.
Working Conditions
- Remote with frequent collaboration across internal and client teams. May require travel to client sites or stakeholder meetings, including rural communities, as project needs dictate.
- Must be located in New York state
Supervisory Responsibility
- May provide task-level guidance to analysts, coordinators, or junior team members.
- Does not typically have direct supervisory responsibility but may lead assigned workstreams, project tasks, or small project teams.

Compensation:
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
Range: $82,000 - $90,000
