About SailPoint:

SailPoint is defining the next era of identity security. Our unified, AI-powered platform seamlessly secures both the Human Fabric of your workforce and the Agentic Fabric of AI and non-human identities, completely eliminating organizational blind spots.

Built on core principles like zero-standing privilege and contextualized risk, our platform transforms identity from a vulnerability into a strategic business advantage. Today, we are trusted by some of the largest, most complex organizations in the world to deliver intelligent, autonomous identity security at scale.

About you and the role:

As a Principal Software Engineer at SailPoint, you will be a key member of our engineering leadership team, driving the overall design and development of our Identity Security Platform, Atlas. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technical execution. You will need to possess a deep understanding of our business landscape, including market dynamics, customer needs, and strategic goals. Your primary responsibility will be to translate this business insight into actionable technical requirements and innovative design solutions.

You are immensely passionate about platform architecture, and delivering reliable, scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products. You will interact with technical teams across SailPoint to architect systems that scale to process billions of events and support millions of users. You enjoy technical leadership, technical design and solving complex challenges as much as you enjoy getting your hands into the code.

Future thinker -

You constantly think about the security, reliability and resiliency of our platform and how to maintain it. You believe that it’s not a matter of if we will be attacked, but when. Every decision you make is based on that premise.

Technology choices that scale – you understand our technology landscape, the direction that technology is evolving, when something will be obsolete, and can make sound decisions or assumptions based on those factors.

Business minded -

You understand our total addressable market and you know who our competitors are and what they are building. You understand where SailPoint is headed. You can balance immediate needs (escalations, customer satisfaction) and understand the long-term impacts of your decisions. Urgency to scale (pace), you don’t get distracted by analysis paralysis.
